DECEMBER 6th 2-4pm PST. Over. Thank You.
Come get physical! We are going to move our bodies in focused ways that will begin to layout a blueprint of our pivoting points that enable our bodies to move in space. Most of the time we do not think of how or where our bodies move from. This Training Jam will focus on these points of mobility. We will play with movement, dance, seeing and being seen. Most of all this Training Jam is here to Honor our bodies in a playful and mindful manner. |

ARTIST TAKE OVER: Story Weaving
with Renae Morriseau
DECEMBER 13th Sunday 2-4 pm PST
with Renae Morriseau
DECEMBER 13th Sunday 2-4 pm PST
Home, Homelessness and the Culture in Between... In this Online Training Jam with Renae Morriseau, we’ll be delving into her dramaturgical process in supporting the voices of personal histories, in relation to larger social inequities. Through dialogue, Zoom exercises, and some writing prompts the hope is to find the collective story that creates a trajectory for social change. This process invites participants to consider what their de-colonial, self-dramaturgy is for one’s individual stories of resilience and restitution in what home, homelessness and the Culture In-Between means to you. Renae Morriseau is a writer, theatre & television director, actor, singer and musician. She has worked across Canada and Internationally with her singing group, M’Girl. She has received cultural teachings through social and ceremonial songs with the Secwepemc, Okanagan, Nlaka’pamux, Moari, Cree and Ojibway peoples as well as in her Saulteaux/Cree family. In theatre, she produced, wrote, directed, and acted in a variety of Aboriginal stories, contributing her music, voice and dramaturgy. She just completed directing 6 episodes of the 3rd season for Quest Out West, a documentary TV series for APTN on Indigenous food sovereignty. Renae continues to work in the DTES to cultivate social justice, inclusiveness, and community building through the power of theatre and performance art. Renae’s most recent community arts building project is SRO (Single Room Occupancy) with Indigenous Women on home, homelessness and the spirit of cultural practice. |
